Kundalini Yoga & Breathwork

Feel the Shift in Your Personal Rhythm and Release the Energy Within

Your mind and body are intrinsically connected. Your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions affect your physical health, while your physical state influences your mental well-being. Stressful thoughts can trigger fight-or-flight responses, and poor physical health can quickly affect your mood and outlook.

Kundalini Yoga is a structured practice that combines breath, movement, sound, and awareness or Kundalini meditation. Together, these elements support balance and presence in both body and mind, calming the nervous system.

Through breathwork and movement exercises, Kundalini Yoga activates the parasympathetic nervous system of the body, which is the “rest and digest” part of the nervous system. These exercises slow down the heart and relax the muscles, telling your body that it is safe now and you are in a safe zone.

How Does It Work?

Kundalini Yoga uses specific sequences and breathing techniques to awaken the Kundalini energy, which is already within all of us. The process and the healthy lifestyle help you be more aware and present.

Breathwork and movement techniques combine intentional breathing with physical motions to calm the nervous system, improve focus, and release tension. Techniques like belly breathing with arm raises or coordinated stretches link your breath to your body, promoting stress relief, energy, and enhanced physical performance.

Kundalini Yoga has many different “kriyas” or action sets that help you pinpoint aspects in your life you want to focus on or bring awareness to. Over time, with the help of your Kundalini Yoga instructor, consistent practice supports the nervous system and mental focus. The more you practice Kundalini Yoga techniques, the more you enjoy the benefits of being aware and being in the here and now.

Who Can Benefit from Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga is suitable for yoga beginners and experienced practitioners. It can be adapted to different bodies, levels, and life situations. It is not designed to make you push harder or work out more heavily. It is a gentle technique that allows you to dip into your inner self, discover your personal rhythm, and move in harmony with it.

Some individuals may not have the luxury of time to go through a full 1.5 hours of Kundalini Yoga. We hear you. Our 45-minute breathwork and meditation classes deliver the same basic techniques that combine breathing, movement, and sound awareness to help you loosen and release – at half the regular time. While a shortened breathwork and meditation session can do wonders for you, we do encourage you to take advantage of the long-term benefits of a full session.
